Want To WIN? Stop Getting Down Like Your Competition

Want To WIN? Stop Getting Down Like Your Competition

There is a profound amount of power in standing out. Our lovely EARTH would be drab and tasteless if we all liked and rolled the same way. Were we all alike, we would fight to extinction. And that would be really, really bad. Enters uniqueness and the day, hence our world, is saved.

Portraying uniqueness in your content will make your world (your target audience) go round. Nobody is ever found chasing after the commonplace. The balance tips very much in favor of the opposite; everybody is chasing after that one product that stands out from the crowd.

It is inevitable; we are subconsciously always after the ‘somewhat’ illusive aspect of uniqueness. And it is a good thing, because it provides fertile grounds for genius and innovation.

Stand Out…

To the online entrepreneur looking to improve conversion rates via web content, uniqueness presents a powerful tool.

Since most of your online marketing efforts will find base on content, coming out as commonplace before your customers will work against you. On the other hand, wrapping uniqueness around your content will excite and pique the interest of your clients.

And we all know what that means; an excited prospect makes for an excited entrepreneur.

While your competition is doing their best copying and duplicating tired methods, you’re better off creating unique content that is in line with your solutions.

But, how do you create unique content for your website?

You Must Start With A Plan

Everyone has their unique voice, which is a power by itself. However, without control, you risk losing this power. Without a solid business plan (or at least a web content style guide), you are going to lose your voice (hence your unique angle) in the midst of all the disorder that will ensue.

Without a business plan to guide your content marketing, you will never bring uniqueness on board. If you do not plan how you will execute content creation, you will create content just because ‘content needs creating’.

If you choose this path, uniqueness will choose a path opposite and parallel.

Quality Over Quantity

Quantity used to count ages ago. Long before search engines grew smarter and SEO became all about relevance of content as opposed to volume of content. The online world of today appreciates and rewards quality and not quantity. You may brood all you want; it is just the way the world is.

If you are wondering, this change has something to do with the many changes that Google and other search engines have been making to their algorithms. Search engines have now been ‘trained’ to know when your information is irrelevant, even when it’s spread across a million and one pages.

You can only exhaust a particular topic for far too long before Google catches up with you. There is a limit to the number of pages you can publish on any given topic, and Google spiders understand this very well. So bid goodbye to generating mass content using software that promise millions of pages on any chosen keyword.

Instead, concentrate on creating effective content that is valuable.

How?

Create content that is everything about your target audience – according to your research as well as perspective. Spin the sentences around your solutions without losing the reader’s attention. Provide information that your prospects can put into use – immediately or progressively – as they seek solutions to their pressing issues.

But, you will say:

Creating Unique Content Is Difficult & Time Consuming – Especially At The Idea Generation Stage

Well, we will say: this is classic bull. There are a million and one ways of coming up with new and exciting ideas. But since idea generation will be dealt with in a similar post, we will touch on one major source of ideas. It is something you have in abundance. It is nothing other than imagination.

That is exactly what  we do. Even without trying hard, we explore forums and other resources that might have something of interest. We jot down ideas that inspire us to write something worthwhile. Then we let imagination loose and BAM, an exciting idea is born!

Just don’t worry about your writing skills. As long as your content is original and comprehensible, you will learn new writing styles and vocabulary along the way. Within a year, you will be writing for your website like the pros. Of course, if you lack the time, you can always consult a writer.

That leads us to our next and final point:

Outsourcing Your Content

If you cannot pour uniqueness in your content no matter what you try, worry not. You can outsource content creation to an experienced ghost writer. If you have a web content style guide in place, you can demonstrate uniqueness and orderliness without writing a single line of content!

This is possible even if you hire different writers from opposite sides of the globe.

Quick Tip: Choose and STICK WITH the writer(s) who understand exactly what your content style guide (hence your business) is all about.

Well, that’s about it. We hope these few words will help you develop content that is unique and interesting to your target market.
